Upgrade your Wordpress Blogs
Just a quick posting tonight. If you are using Wordpress to power your websites, you probably noticed the notification inside the dashboard. It is time to upgrade again. If you are like me this turns out to be quite some work, because I am using Wordpress all over the place. Does anyone know if there is a software that upgrades all your blogs automatically? I do not mean the plugin that allows you to upgrade, but rather a software that uploads the new files to the different (pre-configured) websites and then you can conveniently upgrade from some sort of a control panel?
Anyway – I use Excel to keep track of all my websites where I use Wordpress. It contains the Domain Name, the direct link to the wp-admin / Dashboard + user ID and password I am using. Since the upgrade plugin became available I do not have to upload any files at least (except for maybe upgrading a plugin here and there). All in all it takes me about 45-60 minutes to upgrade the different Wordpress installations. Time I would rather use for something else, but what do you want to do. Safety first
Just make sure you enable all plugins after the upgrade - especially Askimet. I missed that on one blog and ended up with 3762 comments waiting for approval. ![]()
